Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Excella’s Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) course is a two-day, interactive learning experience that focuses on the role of the product owner.
What You’ll Learn
This course starts with an overview of the Agile and Scrum frameworks. From there, the curriculum includes:
Understanding the role of the Product Owner
Understanding customers and users
Testing product assumptions
Working with the Product Backlog
Upon completion of the course, students will be credentialed as Certified Scrum Product Owners. This course also allows students to claim 14 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs).*
The cost of registration includes exam and certification fees, and a two-year membership to the Scrum Alliance. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks will be provided on both days of class.
The class will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the MicroTek Dulles Training Center at 12950 Worldgate Drive, Suite 400, Herndon, Virginia 20170. On-site complimentary parking will be available.

The class is great for current Scrum Product Owners, business analysts, ScrumMasters, testers, or anyone involved with creating requirements, gathering needs, and managing products.
Note: The CSPO course assumes that attendees already have a basic understanding of Scrum via our Agile and Scrum in a Day course, Certified ScrumMaster course, or equivalent Scrum experience.
About Your Trainer
Richard Cheng, Director of Training at Excella, provides training and consulting services to commercial and federal clients in the Washington, DC area. Richard coaches, mentors, and trains clients in understanding and implementing Agile and Scrum.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Richard has authored several publications on project management, presented at Agile and PMI sponsored industry events, is a member of Mensa, and holds certifications including Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified LeSS Practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC). Richard is a founder and on the executive committee of the Agile Delivery for Agencies, Programs, and Teams (ADAPT), an Agile government task force.
