Past winners include Congressman Elijah Cummings, Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, Ill, President of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and Tuskegee Airmen Dr. Cyril Byron.
The Rays of Hope Event is a time for Black Professional Men, Inc. to showcase its mentoring program, and to give scholarships to deserving Black male students from the Baltimore metropolitan area. In the past twenty-three years, Black Professional Men Inc. has awarded scholarships to more than 250 deserving African American male high school graduates. In honor of this momentous occasion, our goal is to award $1000 in scholarships, bringing our total scholarship giving over the past 25 years over $250,000.
In order to achieve this goal, and to celebrate twenty-five years of the event, we have planned a spectacular weekend of fun, informative, and inspiring events.  The Rays of Hope Awards and Scholarship Dinner which will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8pm at Baltimore City Hall.
