Musee Conservatoire inVINcible VIGNEron
Placed in a triangle between Gaillac , Cordes sur Ciel and Albi , the Museum has been built on the grounds of an old vineyard and has more than 10.000 exhibits for you to enjoy. As you explore the Museum which is spread over more than 1400 square metres you will understand how the Winegrowers developed their tools and skills to help them overcome the many challenges they faced from the soil, weather and diseases. The many sections cover all aspects of producing wine for your enjoyment from preparing the land for the vines to bottling the wine ready for delivery. There are also various “objets d’art” which reflect the popularity of wine throughout the centuries. The founder of the Museum has a real passion for the history of winemaking, being keen to know why it changed over the years, by studying the objects on display and trying to understand the reason for the changes. Most of the changes were for the good but he will be pleased to show you some of the things that went wrong as well sharing many anecdotes as a result of his studies. If you are at all interested in wine you will find the visit fascinating
